Lane Press Installs Two Wide-Format Platesetters |
|
At Lane Press, we have installed two new wide-format Kodak platesetters. Large pieces of equipment that dominate our prepress area, platesetters do the work of transferring the raster images of your magazine pages onto the lithographic metal plates used on our offset presses.
The Kodak Magnus VLF (very large format) platesetting device is the fastest fully automated VLF platesetter on the market. These state-of-the-art machines are capable of running up to an 83” plate and producing 44 plates per hour. They are running in conjunction with our Prinergy system and allow for faster imaging speeds while maintaining the same high quality our customers have come to expect from Lane Press.
Our primary device is an automated unit with four drawers that holds 75 plates per drawer, compared with our previous capacity of 30 plates per drawer. This increase allows for longer continuous imaging sessions between refills. Additionally, we have installed a second platesetter for redundancy.
This equipment upgrade is in line with our overall goal of staying current with appropriate, effective technology. By integrating today's proven technology into our facility, we are able to provide our customers with more efficient production runs while maintaining the same superior quality for your printed projects.
