President's Message
Fear is a powerful
motivator. In us humans, it is an emotion that has evolved over the eons to
help us survive. It is the basis of the fight-or-flight reaction to impending
threats. For our ancestors, it meant standing to fight that saber-toothed
tiger, or climbing the nearest tree to preserve the ability to fight another
day. This atavistic trait is still with us today and often creeps into our
business decision-making. When faced with a true threat to our business
survival, fear compels us either to fight the condition with immediate action,
or hunker down and wait for the threat to pass. Either of these reactions can
work, but there is one important caveat....
