Florida International Hits the Jackpot with 13 FMA Charlie Awards

Lane Press customer Florida International garnered significant praise for their publication at this year’s Florida Magazine Association (FMA) Annual Publishing Conference & Exposition held at Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on August 23–25, 2007.

There are three levels of recognition in each category: Bronze, Silver, and the Charlie Award, which is the highest honor available. This year, Florida International won the following awards:

FMA represents approximately 236 magazines and 44 suppliers of publishing products and services. FMA’s Charlie Awards competition is named in honor of the late Charles G. Welborn, Jr., a long-time professor of journalism and communications at the University of Florida.

More than 900 entries were submitted for the 2007 Charlie Awards contest from 70 publications produced in Florida. The judges, who come from across the country, specialize in magazine publishing.
